Clothes dyed with familiar plants
Itoshiro is a place of origin deep in the mountains, blessed with nature from Mt. Hakusan. Every plant that grows in this area has its own color. Wanting to incorporate that beauty into my life, I started dyeing fabrics with the plants around me.
The indigo leaves are cultivated, the indigo is brewed, and then stored in a jar for dyeing. The plants are picked, then boiled and dyed. The colors that emerge vary depending on the season and the year, which is both the difficulty and the joy of dyeing with plants.
The gentle colors of plants and flowers created by human hands, and the indigo color that has been passed down as a part of Japanese culture since ancient times, add color and warmth to daily life.
It is also possible to re-dye or dye the item multiple times, so we hope you will enjoy using it for a long time.
