Digital version of [Itoshiro Folk Clothing Series] How to make a tatsuke

¥2,200

We have created a booklet that explains how to make the "Tatsuke" that we produce in our shop.

Please note that this site sells digital downloads, not paper books. If you would like to purchase a paper booklet, please see this site.

We have put together an easy-to-understand guide on how to make "Tatsuke", a pair of farm work pants that are easy to move in and can be made using only straight cuts.

We created this with the hope that many people would make "Tatsuke," a traditional craft handed down in the Itoshiro village deep in the mountains of Gifu Prefecture.

The contents are:
About Itoshiro
・Introduction of Tatsuke's teacher
How to measure
・Cutting method
・Sewing method
How to measure a child's furniture

is.

In addition, we have made a video with detailed instructions on how to make this based on this booklet. You can watch it for free on YouTube. URL: https://youtu.be/svA5IWPskGA

This is an easier to understand version of the "How to Make Tatsuke" (1,080 yen) that has been on sale since around 2013, and is based on the "Noragi Tatsuke" currently on sale at Ishiteshiro Clothing Store.

Please be sure to pick up a copy.

◾️About hashtags when making clothes by looking at how to make them

A customer requested that we create a hashtag so that other people can see what they are making. When uploading photos of their creations to social media,

#Itoshirotsuke

Please tag it with the tag.

#Itoshirokarusan
#ItoshiroHakama
#ItoshiroEchizenShirt
#ItoshiroSleeveless

Then, when you search for the hashtag, you will be able to see what other people have created.

■ Production Story

Many people are surprised to learn that we are revealing in detail how we make the clothes we primarily produce and sell at Itoshiro Clothing Store. We decided to reveal how we make our clothes because we want more people to know how wonderful "tatsuke" is.

We were also generously taught by local grandmothers. We would like to share this knowledge with many people, and share the surprise and joy of making clothes, and the pleasure of wearing clothes that you made yourself.

We will also be holding workshops based on this booklet on an irregular basis, so we hope that we can all share the joy of getting our hands dirty.

This button-front shirt is made entirely of straight lines. As it was originally workwear, the design allows for easy arm movement and is relaxed, without stiff shoulders.

This vest has a strange design, with the fabric cut in an alternating pattern. We also recommend wearing it long like a coat.
