When I wear this cardigan, my children often press their faces against it. It truly has a smooth texture that doesn't feel prickly at all, so I understand why they do that.

The secret lies in the extremely fine yarn. We had a cashmere-specialized spinning mill process high-quality black merino raw wool into delicate yarn.

A sleek silhouette that doesn't look bulky

Because the yarn is fine, it's warm but has a soft knit without being thick. This results in a sleek silhouette, and even when worn under a coat, it doesn't feel bulky or add excess volume.

Rich texture of gray and brown

The heathered knit, combining two shades of gray and brown, creates a rich texture with depth.

We've also made slight changes to the details for size 1 and size 2.

Size 1 has a compact design and a shorter length, recommended for women.
The button color also adds an accent.

Size 2 is long enough to cover a woman's hips. For men, it's a perfect fit.

You can casually drape it over a dress, or wear it buttoned up for an elegant look.

Care instructions

Many people might think wool is difficult to care for. While we certainly want you to treat it with care, daily maintenance is simple. On the days you wear it, gently brush off any dust with a dedicated brush. Then, lay it flat on a drying hanger for about a day to air out any moisture from sweat. After that, store it folded in your closet. If you're concerned about a spot stain, apply a neutral detergent to that area and gently press to remove the dirt.

Because it's soft, pilling is inevitable. When you notice pills, be sure to cut them off at the base with scissors; do not pull them. (Pulling them will lead to more pilling.)

We recommend dry cleaning at least once per season. After cleaning, be sure to store it with moth repellents.

Production Story

We had been using raw black Merino wool grown in Victoria, Australia for about three years. However, that raw wool is no longer available. The elderly person who collected this rare colored raw wool, from a small flock, retired. But we desperately wanted to continue using this "undyed wool," so we kept searching and found raw black Merino wool from sheep raised in Tasmania, another state in Australia!

It's still the "Black Merino" breed, but it's surprising how the color and softness of the yarn differ, perhaps because of the different growing locations and types of grass they eat. However, all raw materials for clothing are living things (including plants). So it's natural for them to vary from year to year, and when you think about it, it's also natural for the wool quality to differ between individual sheep.

The appearance may change each year, but we hope you'll enjoy these variations, thinking, "This is this year's color and texture!"
