When I wear this cardigan, my child often presses their face against me. It truly has a completely non-itchy, smooth feel, so I can understand why.

The secret is the ultra-fine yarn. We had the high-quality Black Merino raw wool spun into delicate yarn at a specialty cashmere spinning mill.

A clean silhouette that doesn’t look bulky

Because the yarn is so fine, it’s warm without adding thickness, creating a soft knit texture. That gives it a sleek silhouette, and even when you wear a coat over it, it stays smooth and doesn’t make you look bulky.

A bright, lively gray tone

In winter, outfits tend to get darker overall, but this color is very bright and adds a touch of elegance. Please use it as an accent color too.

size1 and size2 also differ slightly in details

size1 has a compact design. It’s shorter in length and recommended for women.
The color of the buttons also adds an accent.

size2 is sized to cover the hips for women.

Men can wear it in a true-to-size fit.

About care

Many people may think wool is hard to care for. Of course, we’d like you to treat it with care, but day-to-day maintenance is simple. On the day you wear it, gently brush off any dust with a special brush. Then spread it out on a flat-drying hanger for about a day to let sweat and other moisture evaporate. After that, fold it and store it in your closet. If you’re concerned about a spot stain, apply a neutral detergent just to that area and remove the dirt by gently pressing and washing it.

Because it’s soft, pilling will inevitably appear. When you notice it, do not pull it—always cut it off at the base with scissors. (If you pull it, more pills will form from there.)

Use dry cleaning at least once per season. After cleaning, be sure to store it with moth repellents.

Production Story

We've been using Black Merino raw wool grown in Victoria, Australia for about the past three years. But that raw wool is no longer available. The older breeder who had been collecting only the rare colored raw wool from a small flock has retired and can no longer continue. Still, we were determined to keep using this undyed wool, so after searching and searching, we found raw wool from Black Merino sheep raised in Tasmania, another state in Australia!

It’s the same Black Merino breed, but because the sheep are raised in a different place and eat different grasses, the yarn’s color and softness are surprisingly different. Even so, clothing materials are all living things (including plants). So it’s only natural for them to vary from year to year, and if you think about it, wool quality differs from sheep to sheep too.

The feel may be different every year, but we hope you’ll enjoy the changes too, saying, “This is this year’s color and texture!”
