When I wear this cardigan, my child often presses their face against me. The texture is truly smooth and completely itch-free, so I can understand why.

The secret is the ultra-fine yarn. We had a specialty cashmere spinning mill turn high-quality Black Merino raw wool into delicate yarn.

A clean silhouette that doesn’t make you look bulky

Because the yarn is so fine, it’s warm yet soft without adding thickness. That creates a sleek silhouette, and even when you layer a coat over it, it stays comfortable and doesn’t make you look bulky.

A bright, lively gray tone

Winter outfits tend to feel dark overall, but this color is bright and cheerful. Please use it as an accent color too.

size1 and size2 also differ slightly in the details

size1 has a compact design. It’s shorter in length and recommended for women.
The color of the buttons also adds a nice accent.

size2 offers enough room to cover the hips for women.

Men can wear it in a just-right fit.

Care instructions

Many people may think wool is difficult to care for. Of course, we’d like you to treat it with care, but daily maintenance is simple. On days you wear it, gently brush off any dust with a special clothing brush. Then spread it out on a flat-drying hanger for about a day to let sweat and moisture dry out. After that, fold it and store it in your closet. If you’re concerned about a specific stain, apply a neutral detergent only to that area and gently press-wash to remove it.

Because it’s soft, pilling will inevitably appear. When you notice it, do not pull it—always cut it off at the base with scissors. (If you pull it, more pilling will form from that spot.)

Use dry cleaning at least once per season. After cleaning, be sure to store it with insect repellent.

Production story

We have been using raw Black Merino wool from Victoria, Australia for about the past three years. However, that raw wool was no longer available. The person who had been collecting only the scarce colored fleece from a small flock had grown older and had to stop. But we still really wanted to keep using this undyed wool, so we kept searching—and found Black Merino raw wool from sheep raised in Tasmania, another state in Australia!

Although it’s the same kind called "Black Merino," the color and softness of the yarn are different, perhaps because the place they were raised and the quality of the grass they eat are different. That said, all clothing materials come from living things (including plants). So it’s only natural that they differ from year to year, and when you think about it, it makes sense that each sheep has its own wool quality too.
