■ Production Story
Many people are surprised that we share such highly detailed, step-by-step instructions for making the core clothing items we design and sell as Itoshiro Apparel Store. We decided to publish these construction guides out of a desire to introduce more people to the wonderful traditional garments that have been passed down in the Itoshiro region.
Originally, we ourselves learned all these crafting skills freely and generously from the local grandmothers in our community. We want to pass this knowledge on to as many people as possible, and share the surprise and joy that comes when you finish making something, as well as the special delight of wearing clothing that you sewed entirely by hand.
