Paper Pattern: How to Make an Echizen Blouse [Zero Waste Pattern]

We are releasing the instructions for making the "Zero Waste Pattern" for the first time.

Until now, we have published redesigned versions of garments passed down in Itoshiro, such as the "tattsuke" and "hakama," as pattern instructions.

We will continue doing that, and we also want to share how to make the garments we have newly designed based on "straight-line cutting," so we have decided to release the "How to Make the Echizen Blouse."

The Echizen Blouse is based on the same idea as the Echizen Shirt. It is a square-neck shirt made by joining panels together. It is designed with women in mind.

It works beautifully on its own in summer and layered in winter. We also offer variations such as a dress and a sleeveless version, so please enjoy the many possibilities.

■Making Story
Many people are surprised that we openly share such detailed instructions for the garments we design and sell as the core of Itoshiro Yohinten. We decided to publish the patterns because we want more people to discover the beauty of the traditional clothing passed down in Itoshiro.

We, too, were originally taught generously by the grandmothers in the region. We want to pass that on to as many people as possible, and share the surprise and joy of making something, as well as the pleasure of wearing clothes you made yourself.
