Wide pants that can be worn all year round

"Hakama" is a traditional style from this region. I adapted it to create straight silhouette pants.

The square gusset at the crotch makes it easy to move around in. The elastic waistband gives it a clean look while still providing a relaxed fit.

About "Hakama" >

Available in two sizes

They are available in two different sizes, both in width and length. This is size 2 worn by someone who is 160cm tall (with 8cm heels).

This is a size 1 worn by a person 153cm tall. Even with the same design, the silhouette will vary depending on the size worn.

Medium weight soft fabric

The fabric is made of organic cotton twill. It is a sturdy fabric that feels good against the skin, and the more you wear it, the softer it becomes.

You can wear it comfortably all year round. The waist is made of wide elastic and has a drawstring inside for size adjustment. It also has belt loops, so you can use a belt if you like.

The long-awaited black

There have been many requests for the black color. This time, we have made it possible using eco-dyed fabric. The black color is easy to coordinate with anything. It can be used in a wide range of situations, such as work and going out.

There are buffalo buttons and tabs on the sides of the waist, allowing you to adjust the size by a few centimeters.

[Background to the creation of the Black Series]

Why did I want to make black bottoms? It all started with this old piece of fabric.

This is a "tatsuke" that was made over 100 years ago and was used by an old man. Almost all of these old clothes are indigo dyed, but this one was dyed black.

When I asked the locals "What is this dyed with?" they replied "It doesn't look like indigo dye, so I wonder what it is..." and I was left without a clue.

However, I have always been intrigued by this deep, deep black color and have always wanted to develop a black series someday.

We also tried various methods of plant dyeing, but black was difficult to produce in this region. We tried layering walnut leaves, gallnuts, and indigo... At one point we even tried a black color using almond leaves in Cambodia, but the price was too high to release.

After searching for years for a black fabric that satisfied me, I came across a weaver in Hiroshima and found an eco-dyed black fabric.

In addition to getting inspiration from old clothes, I am very happy that we were able to fulfill the many requests we received for black bottoms.
