Digital version of [Itoshiro Folk Clothing Series] How to make Karu-san

¥2,200

We have created a booklet that explains how to make the "Karusan" dolls that we produce in our shop.

Please note that this site sells digital downloads, not paper books. If you would like to purchase a paper booklet, please see this site.

We have put together an easy-to-understand guide on how to make "Karusan", tapered pants made only with straight cuts. The silhouette is a cross between "tatsuke" and "hakama", making them very popular. This design can be used by both men and women of all ages.

We created this product with the hope that many people would make "Karusan," which is believed to have been made by an elderly woman born in the Meiji era in the village of Itoshiro, deep in the mountains of Gifu Prefecture.

The contents are:

・Karusan's attempt ・Karusan's method ・Measuring ・How to get dimensions ・Cutting
・Sewing and application
・Points on cutting the width of a kimono・Kodomo Karu-san
・Afterword

is.

Please be sure to pick up a copy.

After purchase, we will send you an email with a download URL for the data. Please download it from there and use it.

◾️About the hashtags used when making clothes by following the instructions

A customer requested that we create a hashtag so that other people can see what they are making. When uploading photos of their creations to social media,

#Itoshirokarusan

Please tag the photos with the tag.

#ItoshiroTasuke
#ItoshiroHakama
#ItoshiroEchizenShirt
#ItoshiroSleeveless

Then, when you search for the hashtag, you will be able to see what other people have created.

■ Production Story

Many people are surprised to learn that we are revealing in detail how we make the clothes we primarily produce and sell at Itoshiro Clothing Store. We decided to reveal how we make our clothes because we want more people to know how wonderful "tatsuke" is.

We were also generously taught by local grandmothers. We would like to share this knowledge with many people, and share the surprise and joy of making clothes, and the pleasure of wearing clothes that you made yourself.

We will also be holding workshops based on this booklet on an irregular basis, so we hope that we can all share the joy of getting our hands dirty.
