Digital version of [Itoshiro Folk Clothing Series] How to make a hakama

¥2,200

We have created a booklet that explains how to make the hakama that we produce in our shop.

Please note that this site sells digital downloads, not paper books. If you would like to purchase a paper booklet, please see this site.

We have put together an easy-to-understand guide on how to make "hakama", wide pants made by cutting in straight lines. In the past, these were worn over kimonos instead of raincoats, so they are loose fitting trousers.

We created this with the hope that many people would make the "hakama" that is handed down in the Itoshiro village, deep in the mountains of Gifu Prefecture.

The contents are:
About Itoshiro
・Introduction of Hakamano's teachers
How to measure
・Cutting method
・Sewing method
・Advanced
・How to measure a child's pot
is.

Please be sure to pick up a copy.

◾️About hashtags when making clothes by looking at how to make them

A customer requested that we create a hashtag so that other people can see what they are making. When uploading photos of their creations to social media,

#Itoshirohakama

Please tag the photos with the tag.

#ItoshiroTasuke
#Itoshirokarusan
#ItoshiroEchizenShirt
#ItoshiroSleeveless

Then, when you search for the hashtag, you will be able to see what other people have created.

■ Production Story

Many people are surprised to learn that we are revealing in detail how we make the clothes we primarily produce and sell at Itoshiro Clothing Store. We decided to reveal how we make our clothes because we want more people to know how wonderful "tatsuke" is.

We were also generously taught by local grandmothers. We would like to share this knowledge with many people, and share the surprise and joy of making clothes, and the pleasure of wearing clothes that you made yourself.

We will also be holding workshops based on this booklet on an irregular basis, so we hope that we can all share the joy of getting our hands dirty.
