We have started business at our Itoshiro main store.

This year's business at Ishiteshiro Clothing Store has officially begun.

May is a very busy month with the fields being prepared, indigo dyeing starting, and the main store opening for business. However, it is also a pleasant season after the snow has melted, and I can get ahead in everything with a fresh feeling, so it is my favorite month.

After the winter, we are welcoming our customers to Itoshiro for the first time in a while, and we are having lively conversations and enjoying our time here.

This year, we also began an exhibition in the Former Stable Gallery to celebrate our 10th anniversary.

The gallery is housed in a very impressive 140-year-old beam building.

Itoshiro has a short summer and the season for farming is limited, so slow oxen are not suitable for plowing the fields, and so the people always kept horses.

Even now, when you talk to people in their 80s or older, they will happily reminisce about keeping horses.

My parents' house, where we live, also had a horse stable at the entrance, and at times they kept as many as two horses.

Horses were essential to providing food for the people. I hear they were treated just as well as people. In this important place, we are exhibiting something that is the origin of the Itoshiro Clothing Store.

In addition to the store, we hope you will also take the time to browse.
