When you hear the word "black", you might imagine a black sweater.
But this wool is not dyed black.
The natural wool color that sheep are born with.
It is crafted to make the most of that distinct color.

What we have created this time is,

All of these have soft, natural one-of-a-kind hues that differ slightly from the uniform colors created using chemical dyes.

The reason it doesn't feel scratchy is,
Merino wool and Japanese spinning technology.

Wool is warm.
That said, there are quite a few people who say they dislike it because it feels prickly and scratchy.
That is why we chose merino wool, a material with fine, exceptionally soft fibers.
Furthermore, Japanese spinning technology is what brings out the true full appeal of this material.
By carefully spinning fine fibers into yarn, we created a luxuriously soft, smooth feel against the skin.

At Ishitegawa Apparel Store, we have spent many years practicing plant-derived dyeing techniques such as botanical dyeing and indigo dyeing, where we source all of our colors directly from natural plants.

The raw wool is from Australia.
From the land of Tasmania

This wool is sourced from sheep raised on the vast lands of Tasmania, Australia.

Colored wool is produced in very small quantities worldwide, making it an extremely rare and precious material.
We receive those materials, and carefully craft each individual piece one by one with great care.

Care Instructions

Many people likely think wool is difficult to care for.
Of course, we recommend handling it with care, but daily maintenance is very simple.

On the day you wear this item, gently brush off any dust using the dedicated brush.
Then, spread the item out on a flat drying hanger and leave it for about a day to allow moisture such as sweat to evaporate.
After that, fold it and put it away in the closet.
If you are concerned about localized dirt or stains on the item, apply a neutral detergent only to the affected spots, then gently press-wash to remove the grime.

As this fabric has a soft texture, some pilling will inevitably occur.
Never pull them out when you notice them — always be sure to cut them cleanly at the root with scissors.
(Pulling at it will cause further fabric pilling to develop starting from that spot.)

Be sure to use dry cleaning services at least once per season.
After cleaning, please be sure to add insect repellent before putting it into storage.
