We have created a booklet explaining how to make the "karusan" that we produce in our shop.

This booklet clearly explains how to make "karusan" tapered pants, which are made only by cutting straight lines. They are designed like a cross between "tatsuke" and "hakama" and are very popular.

We created this with the hope that many people would make the "karusan" that were made in the Itoshiro village, deep in the mountains of Gifu Prefecture.

■Production Story

Many people are surprised that we, as Itoshiro Youhinten, publicly share detailed instructions for making the clothes we primarily produce and sell. We decided to share the instructions because we want more people to know about the wonderfulness of "tatsuke."

Originally, we ourselves were generously taught by the grandmothers in the region. We want to pass this on to many people and share the surprise and joy of creating, as well as the pleasure of wearing clothes made by oneself.

We also irregularly hold workshops based on this booklet, so we hope to share the joy of working with our hands together.
