We have created a booklet explaining how to make the "hakama" pants we produce.
This booklet clearly explains how to make "hakama" wide-leg pants using only straight cuts. In the past, they were worn over kimonos as rainwear, so they are very roomy trousers.
We created this booklet because we want many people to try making the "hakama" passed down in the Itoshiro village, deep in the mountains of Gifu Prefecture.
The contents include:
・About Itoshiro
・Introduction to the Hakama instructor
・How to take measurements
・How to cut the fabric
・How to sew
・Advanced techniques
・How to determine child hakama dimensions
Please take a look.

◾️About hashtags when making clothes using the instructions
Customers requested that we create hashtags so they could see what others have made. When you upload photos of what you've made to social media, please tag them with:
#いとしろはかま (itoshirohakama)
In addition to hakama, for other garments, please include:
#いとしろたつけ (itoshirotatsuke)
#いとしろかるさん (itoshirokkarusan)
#いとしろ越前シャツ (itoshiroechizenshirt)
#いとしろ袖なし (itoshirosodenashi)
This way, when you search by hashtag, you can see what others have made.
■Production Story
Many people are surprised that Itoshiro Yōhinten openly shares detailed instructions for making the clothes we primarily produce and sell. We decided to share the instructions because we want more people to know about the wonderful qualities of "tatsuke" pants.
Originally, we ourselves were generously taught by the grandmothers in the local community. We want to pass this on to many people and share the surprise and joy of making something, or the pleasure of wearing clothes you've made yourself.
We also hold workshops based on this booklet irregularly, so we hope to share the joy of working with our hands together.
・Unauthorized reproduction, reprinting, or secondary use of this book, including copying, scanning, and digitization, is prohibited by copyright law.
・Please refrain from commercial use of the works introduced in this book.
※The second edition was published in March 2023. Some parts of the instructions have been revised.
