■ Production Story

This hakama is a reproduction that closely resembles the old hand-sewn hemp hakama that we use as our model.

In the old days, people would grow hemp, spin the thread by hand, and hand-weave the cloth to make clothes. It's mind-boggling to think how long it must have taken to produce such clothes.

We are grateful to have been able to inherit some of the wisdom of our ancestors, give it form in this way, and incorporate it into our modern lifestyles. The more we try using these pants, the more we realize they are easy to make, easy to wear, and very functional.
