Keisei Hirano Profile
Born and raised in Gifu City in 1981. Majored in cultural anthropology during his student years. Conducted fieldwork at IKTT (Khmer Traditional Textile Institute) in Cambodia, researching "the impact of traditional culture on individual identity formation." Feeling the importance of traditional culture, he became involved in reviving traditional crafts in his hometown of Gifu City. In 2007, he encountered Itoshiro, fell in love with the land and its people, and decided to relocate there. In 2011, he moved to Itoshiro and founded Itoshiro Yohin-ten, which revives, plans, manufactures, and sells Tatsuke—the clothing culture of Itoshiro. In addition to clothing production and sales, he also works on creating and recording regional folktale picture books, and promoting methods for making traditional regional clothing. In September 2025, he published "The Tale of Itoshiro Yohin-ten" (published by Fujin no Tomo Sha). In September 2026, he was featured on "Suteki ni Handmade."
