A classic piece adapted from the 'sleeveless' design

We adapted an old-style sleeveless vest-shaped garment to make this. To avoid wasting fabric, the right and left shoulders are constructed differently—this detail reflects the wisdom of our ancestors. This time, we lengthened the sleeveless design to create a vest dress.

We continue making this design as a staple—it serves as a coordinating accent and is popular across all ages.

It’s perfect for layering over shirts or dresses during cold seasons. The length pairs well with pants too.

Soft like cashmere, no scratchiness

It’s made with gentle fabric, so even those who dislike wool can wear this. We especially recommend this to anyone who thought they didn’t like wool before.

Natural-color sheep

This brown is the natural color of wool. It’s made from rare black merino wool, a breed with a small global population. Since it’s a natural color, it blends easily with everything and has a gentle vibe.

2-color lineup

This dress is available in two colors: brown and gray. The brown has a cozy, warm feel, while the gray is bright. Please choose your preferred color.

[Background Story]

The 'sleeveless' design that inspired this garment was once made by grandmothers themselves. It served two purposes: one was 'cold protection'—they would put cotton in the back to keep warm. The other was 'formal wear'—wearing a sleeveless over workwear happi made it suitable for formal occasions. This is a photo of it being used as formal wear.

As cold protection wear, it seems they wore it during work. A woman wearing a hat is seen with a sleeveless that reaches her hips.

While listening to the elderly in Itoshiro, we aim to carry forward what has been passed down here and create clothing that we can hand over to the next generation in a better way.

The 'sleeveless' is exactly one of those. We’d be happy if as many people as possible could incorporate this wonderful, waste-free garment with straight-cut design into their lives.
