Until now, at Ishitobashi Yohinkan,
we’ve been making skirts gathered from rectangular pieces of fabric.

This time, we’ve made a new style:
a wrap skirt that adds an extra layer to those skirts.

We only use rectangular fabric.

We drape a simple single piece of fabric to fit your body,
by overlapping the front panels,
creating an extra layer of fabric inside the skirt.

This layer traps air, perfect for winter.

This fabric is thinner than our previous gathered skirts,

but wrapping the front creates an overlap of fabric,
adding depth to the look,
while also boosting warmth.

Even though it’s a skirt,
it feels just like wrapping a wool blanket around your waist.

It retains the warmth of wool,
and has a soft texture that doesn’t irritate.

Since it’s long enough to hit below the knee,
it fully covers your legs right down to your feet.

The waist can be adjusted with a tie,
so you can wear it comfortably tailored to your body.

One size fits a wide range of body types.

It wraps nicely around the waist,
without feeling too tight, which is a great plus.

From a rectangular piece of fabric,
we draw out both warmth and beauty.
