Dark Indigo Denim Fabric

These clothes are made from fabric that was "rescued" and would otherwise have been discarded despite its high quality, simply because it wasn't part of mass production. It is thick and has a substantial feel. Perfect for heavy use.

For outings and work

Made from thick denim fabric, these pants can be worn during three seasons, excluding the peak of summer. The color is a calm, dark indigo. Although it's denim, it has a subtle sheen that gives it a luxurious feel. The deep color makes it easy to coordinate with other items, making it suitable for outings. Additionally, the large crotch gusset allows for easy movement, making it useful for work or cycling.

■Production Story

Toshiharu-san, an 80-year-old who was born and raised in Itoshiro, has carefully preserved old clothes. He apparently watched his grandmother weave fabric from a young age.

We recreated the shape of a pair of trousers found in his collection. This is a new shape, different from the "tattsuke" and "hakama" we have made before. It seems he experimented to create something that fit his body type, neither too slim nor too wide, so this shape does not appear to be something commonly found in Itoshiro.

There were signs that he ingeniously created something useful with the fabric he had on hand. We named these trousers "karusan," a term referring to wide pants that are also known in Itoshiro.
