Natural-colored sheep

This brown is the natural color of wool. It’s a fabric developed using rare, scarce 'Black Merino' sheep wool. Since it’s a natural color, it has a soft, versatile vibe that pairs well with anything.

Hand embroidery on the chest adds a subtle accent

The dress has a simple design, but features hand embroidery on the chest. Each piece is carefully crafted with attention to detail.

■ Creation Story

Warm clothing is essential in cold Itshizukawa. This Black Merino is what we developed in that context. We focus on natural, non-chemically dyed colors, so we tested natural dyeing methods like plant-based dyes to achieve this with wool. But then we discovered that there are already colored sheep in the world!

This is the most eco-friendly scenario—no need for dyeing. We immediately reached out to various mills and found,a knitter who handles some of Japan’s highest-quality woolIt was an established mill in Osakawith exceptional technical skill that produced high-quality material on par with cashmere.

Because there are so few of these sheep, and we’re a small brand with small production runs, we were able to create this naturally colored sheep fabric.
