Every Tuesday, 3 Sessions - Intensive Course
- From measuring to completion, all from home -

Every Tuesday for 3 sessions (6/23, 30, 7/7), you will make one Echizen blouse into a finished garment.
Take your time and make use of weekday mornings at a relaxed pace
This is an online course for those who want to get started.

Redesigning the traditional workwear "Echizen Shirt" passed down in Itoshiro
The "Echizen Blouse" we created.
We’ll teach you everything from measuring and drafting dimensions to cutting and sewing over the course of 2 days.

Even through a screen, "why it's made that way" and "the points where mistakes are easy to make"
I’ll explain politely.

The Echizen blouse is made by piecing fabrics together like patchwork. Even sheer fabrics turn out beautifully.

For those who live far away and are unable to come to Itoshiro,
Recommended for those who find it difficult to stay overnight due to childcare or work.

We also offer Ishitetsushiro schooling for those who are interested.
As a reward after the course ended, everyone brought along the tatsuke they had made,

• How to Make the Echizen Blouse, Digital Edition (We will send you a download link, so please download it at home and print it as needed. If you would like the paper edition, please purchase "How to Make the Echizen Blouse" (paper edition) separately.
• The participation fee for the in-person session is an additional 5,000 yen. (We ask for your interest at the time of order, but formal registration will be accepted after the online workshop. The fee will be collected at that time.)

How to Participate

You may participate using either hand sewing or a sewing machine,
Especially with hand sewing, the seam allowance finish may remain visible.
In that case, you will complete it at home after the online lesson.

Depending on your sewing skill level, you may not be able to complete it.
If that’s the case, I’ll continue explaining how to make it.

Things to prepare

• How to Make an Echizen Blouse　
  *A download link will be sent to you by email.
• Sewing tools (tape measure, ruler, tailor's chalk, thread snips,
  Cutting scissors, 20 pins, iron, ironing board, sewing needle,
  For those using a sewing machine, sewing machine)
• Materials (fabric, sewing thread)
• A computer or smartphone (will be conducted via google meet.
  Please make sure you will have internet access throughout the event.)
• A table or space for cutting and sewing work

＊Material details

• Fabric
  For widths of 110 cm or more: length approximately 150 cm
  (As this varies depending on body type, we will confirm in advance via a questionnaire)
  If you prefer, please purchase our fabric (shirt fabric). It requires very little prep work and is easy to sew. Also, if you choose the hand-sewing kit {fabric, hand-sewing thread, elastic waistband, drawstring}, prep time will be reduced.

• After we receive your application, within 2 weeks
  We will send you a participation survey via Google Form.
  (We will send it by email, so emails from info@itoshiro.org
  Please make sure to adjust your settings, such as disabling spam filters, so that it reaches you).
• If it has not arrived after 2 weeks, please contact info@itoshiro.org

• We will hold a workshop based on the survey responses.
  Please make sure you have all the necessary materials before participating.
• Using Google Meet (online meeting),
  We will hold a workshop (there is no need to download an app, etc.).
  Before the event, we will send you the participation URL, so please join from there.
• If you’re unable to attend, we will send you a recording, but participation on both days is expected.

• Please prewash the fabric. Soak it in water, spin it lightly to remove excess water, then hang it to dry.
• Apply the iron over a pressing cloth at a low temperature.
  *If you want to use a washing machine for routine care,
  Put it in a laundry net and run it on a gentle cycle.
  It will shrink, but it’s better to shrink it before sewing
  Once it happens later on, you won’t have to worry about shrinkage.
• Keep wrinkles smooth with an iron.

Q&A About Participation

About Sewing Level

As a guideline,
・Straight stitching can be done by hand or with a sewing machine
• For hand sewing, you can do running stitch and blind stitch
I have made small accessories or clothes using a sewing machine or by hand,

If that applies to you, you may participate.

Just follow the steps to make it according to the pattern,
Because we proceed while explaining “why this shape” and “why this stitching method,”
Recommended for those who want to move beyond the self-taught approach.

Can I really learn properly online?

On the day, I will explain the process and the thinking behind it while showing my hands.

What happens if I am absent?

If you are unavoidably absent, we will send you a recording at a later date. We will also do our best to support you so you can keep up with the content of future sessions.

Can I join partway through?

Basically, we recommend joining from the beginning. Since the steps are connected, it may be difficult to understand if you join partway through.
