Online, straight-cut wide-leg pants "HakamaLet's make
(2026.10/1,8,15)
( Recruitment opens 8/1! Application deadline: closes 9/24)
This workshop is designed for the following audience.
This online workshop,This is not a course intended for people who are sewing for the very first time.
・ Have experience making clothes using sewing pattern books and through self-taught, independent trial-and-error methods.
Even when you follow the pattern exactly, there are times when the finished piece doesn't turn out well, and you can't figure out why that's happening
If this applies to you,Crafted with a thorough understanding of the fabric, structure, and tailoring processThis is a workshop intended for that purpose.Join us online from the comfort of your home to craft a perfectly custom-fitted Hakama made to match your exact measurements. You can participate using whichever sewing method you prefer, whether hand-sewing or using a sewing machine.

Hakama are trousers constructed entirely from straight-cut fabric pieces. With a wide silhouette, they are very comfortable to wear and feature a versatile, easy-to-style design.
This can also be made in a straight-cut design by removing the gusset at the hem.

A crotch gusset is incorporated into this straight-cut design to provide a wider range of motion.
Enjoy creating zero-waste bottoms using traditional Japanese sewing methods designed to ensure no fabric goes to waste.

If you have not received the survey after 2 weeks have passed, please contact us at ws@itoshiro.org.

【Application Deadline】September 24 (Thu) 24:00
【Prep Work Required Before You Start Making】
Please pre-wash the fabric first. Submerge it in water, run it through a light spin cycle, then hang it to dry. Iron it on a low heat setting with a pressing cloth placed over the fabric to protect it.
*If you would like to do regular maintenance washing in a machine, place the item in a laundry net and run it on a gentle cycle. Smooth out any wrinkles with an iron. Some shrinkage may occur, but because the fabric is pre-shrunk before sewing, you will not need to worry about unexpected shrinkage later on.
