■ Production Story
This was based on the clothes I borrowed from Risako, who is now in her 90s. The distinctive feature is the sleeves, which are made by folding and sewing together rectangles called "mojiri sleeves."
I still remember the shock I felt when I first saw this sleeve in person. I realized that the triangular sleeve was made from just one piece of fabric, and that it had the same structure as the sleeves of Ainu clothing.
Itoshiro is a settlement that has existed since the Jomon period, so there may be some connection. This design was created while thinking about the romance of that long history.
