These "hakama" are reproduced to closely resemble the feel of old hand-sewn hemp hakama, which served as our inspiration.

In ancient times, hemp was cultivated, hand-spun into thread, and woven into fabric to make clothing. The thought of how much time it must have taken to create garments back then is overwhelming.

We are grateful to be able to take a piece of our ancestors' wisdom, give it form, and incorporate it into our modern lives. The more we use these pants, the more we realize how easy they are to make, comfortable to wear, and incredibly functional.
