These pants are roomy from the waist to just above the knee, yet have a slim silhouette down to the hem, allowing for easy movement. We also recommend coordinating them by tucking in a sweater to show off the waist design. They can be used in a wide range of situations, not only on casual days but also as going-out wear.

Warm and non-itchy

Made of thick wool, perfect for the cold winter. It is a premium fabric woven with fine yarn, so it gently envelops the skin without being scratchy. It is as soft and gentle as cashmere, so even those who dislike wool can wear it.

Natural colored sheep

This brown is the natural color of sheep's wool. The fabric was developed using the wool of "Black Merino" sheep, a rare breed with a small global population. The natural color gives it a gentle feel that can be easily matched with anything.

■Production Story

Toshiharu, an 80-year-old who was born and raised in Itoshiro, carefully preserves old clothes. He apparently watched his grandmother weave from a young age.

We have reproduced the shape of trousers found in his collection. This is a new shape, different from the "tatsuke" and "hakama" we have made before. It seems he experimented to create something that fit his own body shape, neither too slim nor too wide, and this particular shape does not seem to have been common in Itoshiro.

There were signs of ingenious craftsmanship, using available fabric to create practical garments. We named these trousers "karusan," a term used in Itoshiro to refer to wide pants.
