Deep indigo,
a distinctive and light linen
jacket
Unique yet suitable for formal occasions
This garment features large raglan-like sleeves and a generous drape. At the same time, its beautiful silhouette makes it suitable for any occasion.

It was created based on an overgarment passed down in Itoshiro. About the "Sakkuri" straight-cut method
The beauty of straight-line cutting
We've fully utilized the "straight-line cutting" technique passed down by our predecessors. This allows for a collar design with no wasted fabric.

Large sleeves and a generous width
The "sleeve" design often used in Ainu clothing also has a similar shape in Itoshiro, called "Mojiri Sleeve" or "Maki Sleeve."

High-quality linen fabric woven in Omi
We hear that only 3% of the fabric used in the current Japanese apparel market is domestically produced. To protect and pass on domestic weaving, we actively insist on using domestically produced materials.

Buttoned up or worn open.

One size, unisex
It can be worn by both men and women. The man in the photo is 183cm tall.

Both men and women can wear the same size.
Indigo hand-dyed one by one in Itoshiro
During the summer, dyeing is done in the indigo shed next to the store. The fabric is dyed here, and then the jackets are tailored.

Available in 3 colors
Available in three types: natural linen, indigo dye, and chestnut dye.
Click here for the natural linen product page.

Long length coats also available
We also made a lightweight long coat with a similar structure. Please see this page.

- Model in photo: Female is 160cm tall. Male is 183cm tall.
- Fit may vary depending on body type, so please use this as a reference.
Production Story
We made this by using an old garment given to us by Risako, born in 1927, as a reference.

The distinctive feature is the sleeve, called "Mojiri Sleeve," which is made by folding and sewing a rectangle.

I still remember the shock I felt the first time I actually saw this sleeve. I realized that a single piece of fabric could create a triangular sleeve, and that this sleeve had the same structure as Ainu clothing.
Since Itoshiro has been a settlement since the Jomon period, there might be some connection. This design was created while pondering the romance of its long history.
