We've utilized all the "straight cutting" techniques passed down by our ancestors. The collar design is realized without any wasted fabric.

This coat can be worn by both men and women. The male model shown is 183cm tall.

Both men and women can wear the same size.

Large Sleeves and a Generous Width

The sleeve design, often seen in Ainu attire, also appears in Itoshiro in a similar form, called "Mojiri-sode" or "Maki-sode" (twisted or rolled sleeves).

Change the Look with a Waist Belt

Closing the front with the included fabric belt creates a polished look. It can also be used for formal occasions.

Production Story

This piece was created using an old garment given to us by Risako, who was born in 1927, as a guide.

The distinctive feature is the sleeve, called "Mojiri-sode," which is made by folding and sewing a rectangle.

I still remember the shock of seeing this sleeve for the first time. I realized that a single piece of fabric formed a triangular-shaped sleeve, and that this sleeve had the same structure as the sleeves of Ainu clothing.

Itoshiro is a settlement that has existed since the Jomon period, so there might be some connection. This design was created while pondering the romance of a long history.
