This coat is designed based on a traditional garment passed down in this region. It comes in one size and is made to be unisex.



Its wide body means it suits a variety of body types. The sleeves are “twisted sleeves,” giving it a flowing, generously draped silhouette reminiscent of a dolman sleeve.

Incredibly light and soft. The fabric feels airy, like being gently wrapped in a feather robe.

Yet it’s warm because it’s made from high-quality Japanese fabric. Feel the world-renowned Bishu textile region across your entire body.

May become 3/4 sleeves depending on body type

A defining feature of the “twisted sleeves” is that the sleeves may be 3/4 to 7/8 length depending on the person. It’s also cute when shirt cuffs or sweater sleeves peek out.

■ Creation story

We made this based on a garment borrowed from Risako, who is now in her 90s. Its distinctive feature is the sleeves, called “twisted sleeves,” made by folding and sewing together a rectangle.

I still remember the shock I felt when I first saw these sleeves in person. I realized that a sleeve could be made from just one piece into a triangular shape, and that this sleeve has the same structure as the sleeves on Ainu garments.

Itoshiro is a settlement that has existed since the Jomon period, so there may be some connection. This design was created while imagining the romance of a long history.
