We've tailored our popular Echizen shirt using fabric from Shinnosuke Jo-fu, a textile weaver in Shiga. This is the black chirimen fabric that was so popular at the order events we held over two years in 2023 and 2024.

Simply Cool and Comfortable

Linen weaving is a traditional industry in Shiga Prefecture. It's full of wisdom for surviving Japan's hot and humid summers, allowing you to stay cool even in midsummer.

The secret is that it's a "chirimen" (crepe) fabric. In addition to being linen, the crepe texture keeps it away from the skin, allowing for good airflow and preventing stickiness in the summer.

Straight Cut for No Fabric Waste

This shirt is an adaptation of the "Echizen shirt," a front-buttoned shirt traditional to this region.



We always consider not harming the environment and ensuring comfort for those who wear our clothes. Eliminating fabric waste is a given, and we incorporate the wisdom of our ancestors into our approach.

While shirts for formal occasions can often feel constricting around the shoulders, the Echizen shirt has dropped shoulder lines, like a kimono, making it very comfortable.

The wisdom that allows it to be worn by people of all shoulder shapes comes from its origin as workwear.

You can wear it comfortably for work in a polished setting or for relaxing on your days off. As a front-button shirt, it can also be used as a light cover-up to protect against air conditioning.

Available in 3 sizes: size 3, 4, and 5.

Here, size 4 is worn by someone 183cm tall.

Size 5 is worn by someone 183cm tall.

If you are petite, please wear size 4 as a cover-up, or consider using the short length option.
