This elegant maxi dress

This dress was inspired by the Echizen shirt, originally a work garment for men, and has been arranged to be worn fashionably. We are particular about the material, length, and color, aiming for an elegant piece that can be worn on special occasions.

A soft, silky feel

The most appealing feature is the carefully selected satin fabric. Every customer who tries it on exclaims, "It feels wonderful!"

While retaining the soft texture of organic cotton, its high density weave gives it an elegant sheen, creating a sophisticated atmosphere.

Generous width, relaxed fit

The generous width provides a comfortable fit with no feeling of constriction. This is a garment that can be worn without hesitation by those with broader shoulders, chest, or hips.

Furthermore, the shoulder position is not fixed, and a small triangular gusset under the arm allows for free and easy movement of the arms.

The silhouette is designed so that the hem falls straight down, preventing it from flaring out and allowing for a more mature look.

As a dress or a light jacket

This piece works as a dress on its own, making it easy to style for outings or work. Cinch it at your preferred position with the included waist belt for a more formal look.

It also serves as a useful light jacket. It's perfect for when it's a little chilly in early spring or from autumn to winter.

Gentle plant-dyed colors

The colors available are indigo, marigold khaki, marigold moss green, akaso orange, and marigold yellow, for a total of five types.

The indigo color is dyed repeatedly to achieve a deep hue. The khaki and moss green are chic colors created by combining marigold flowers with iron components. For yellow, different shades are made from fleabane and marigold respectively. The orange is dyed with akaso, a plant whose stems turn red in summer.

The gentle yellow of fleabane, heralding spring

Fleabane flowers are among the first to bloom in wide-open grasslands in spring. They symbolize the joy of a new season. We collect fleabane from the satoyama (traditional rural landscape) of Itoshiro and use it for dyeing.

This is the softest impression among the yellows we have dyed. Perhaps the gentle feeling you get when wearing it comes from the fleabane, nurtured by the spring sunlight.

■ Care Instructions

• Turn the garment inside out, then place it in a large laundry net.
• Place it in the washing machine with ample space and wash on a delicate cycle.
• Use a neutral detergent, or if not heavily soiled, water alone is sufficient.
• After washing, gently spread it out and line dry it in the shade, still inside out.
• Indigo and plant dyes are sensitive to light, so store them in a dark closet or drawer to prevent fading.
• When storing for the season, it's advisable to use moth repellent.

• For fading, we offer re-dyeing. You can also change from plant dye to indigo dye. Please contact us for details.
