This dress is an adaptation of the Echizen shirt, a traditional button-front shirt from this region. Although it is a dress, it is based on Japanese clothing and cut in straight lines. It is made so that no fabric is wasted. Like a kimono, it is shaped to fit the individual body characteristics of the wearer and has a loose, relaxed feel.
