Linen weaving is a traditional industry in Shiga Prefecture. It's filled with wisdom to help you get through Japan's hot and humid summers, keeping you cool even in midsummer.

The secret is that it's a "chirimen" (crepe) fabric. In addition to being linen, the crepe texture keeps it off your skin, allowing for good ventilation in summer and preventing stickiness.

This shirt is an adaptation of the "Echizen Shirt," a front-buttoned shirt traditional to this region.
