Natural colored sheep

This brown is the natural color of sheep wool.
The fabric was developed using the wool of "Black Merino," a rare breed with a small population worldwide. Its natural color gives it a gentle feel that is easy to match with anything.

■ Production Story

In cold Itoshiro, a warm coat is essential. That's why we developed this black merino wool. As we prioritize natural, undyed colors, we explored whether we could achieve this with wool, experimenting with plant dyes and other methods. However, we discovered that there are already naturally colored sheep in the world!

We immediately contacted various weavers for this eco-friendly, undyed option, and found a knitter who handles some of the highest quality wool in Japan. This long-established weaving factory in Osaka, with its advanced technology, produced a cashmere-grade, high-quality material.

Because these sheep are few in number and our brand is small with small lot sizes, we were able to create this fabric from colored sheep.
