Natural Color Sheep

This brown is the natural color of sheep's wool.

This fabric was developed using the wool of "Black Merino," a rare breed with a small population worldwide.Its natural color gives it a gentle feel that is easy to pair with anything.

■ Production Story

In cold Itoshiro, a warm coat is essential. That's why we developed this black merino wool. As we prioritize natural, undyed colors, we explored whether this could be achieved with wool, experimenting with plant dyes. However, we then discovered that sheep with natural colored wool already exist in the world!

This is the most ecological situation, as no dyeing is needed. We immediately contacted various textile manufacturers and founda knitwear company in Japan with a high reputation for handling quality wool.It was an old-established textile company in Osaka with excellent technical skills, and they created a cashmere-grade, high-quality material for us.

Because there are so few of these sheep and our small brand places small lot orders, we were able to create this fabric from the wool of these colored sheep.
