Making small items for next year's zodiac sign, the sheep, from wool scraps (12/20 Kyoto)
Please feel free to contact us via the Itoshiro Yosehinten Official LINE account.
Using wool scraps for next year's zodiac sign,
making sheep-themed accessories
At Itoshirou Yohinkan, we use natural colors
We create items using sheep's wool from nature as-is.
This is valuable wool from sheep raised in Tasmania, Australia. Globally, the number of Black Merino (colored sheep) is limited, so they are hard to obtain.

When we make clothes, small scraps are produced. We will hold a workshop in Kyoto that uses these scraps.
Inspired by next year's zodiac sign, the Sheep
This time, since next year is the Year of the Goat, we will add small embroidery to finish the accessories.

Loving cloth and handcrafts
The instructor is Tayo Nishimura, who lives in Nara.

She loves cloth and handcrafts, and teaches making items in a fun, careful way. She is also a “Tsuke Certified Instructor” who regularly teaches how to make clothing like Itoshirou’s tsuke in Nara.
Please join this fun workshop with Tayo.
What we value in this workshop
- Not wasting cloth: The colors of indigo and plants, gifts from nature. Even the smallest scraps are given new life when combined.
- Creating with your own hands: One stitch at a time, at your own pace. Spend time feeling the warmth and attachment unique to handcrafts, something that mass-produced items do not have.
- Connecting tradition: Learn the bag shapes filled with our ancestors' wisdom, and update them into “your own personal tools” that fit modern life.
