This is cotton fabric for making tatsuke.

This is medium-weight cotton fabric with a lovely texture. If you'd like, you can also purchase it as a hand-sewing kit. (The kit includes Daruma hand-sewing thread, 1cm-wide waist elastic, and 1cm-wide satin cord.)

You can make sizes up to our size 3 (for height ~180cm, waist ~85cm, hip ~120cm). The fabric is pre-cut to 36cm wide with serged edges, so you won't waste time cutting it yourself.

Please use this along with the How to Make Tatsuke instruction booklet.
Sturdy Yet Soft Fabric
This medium-weight fabric feels reliable. It glides smoothly through a sewing machine needle, making it a great choice for beginners.

Easy-to-Use Classic Color
It's a deep navy shade that's easy to coordinate with other pieces. You can use it for three seasons except the dead of winter.

Softer With Each Use
It has a wonderful balance of cotton's structure and softness.

Rescued Fabric
The fabric used for this kit is rescued fabric. Rescued fabric refers to high-quality goods that were destined for disposal due to production issues, such as not fitting a major manufacturer's production run, which we've salvaged.
Limited Quantity
Our rescued fabric is available in limited quantities, so if you're interested, please order soon!

■ Production Story
Ishizuruhama Yohinten published instructions for making our own trousers, and this time we tried creating a kit. The reason for this is that we, too, were generously taught how to make tatsuke by people in our local community.
It once was commonplace for everyone to make their own tatsuke, and every family wore them. They naturally created their own lives by making their own goods.
We can't fully replicate the lifestyles of our ancestors, but we want to share the joy of handcrafting and the pride of wearing something you made yourself with as many people as possible. That's why we regularly hold workshops and other events.
