We’ve created a thick wool knit cap designed to keep you comfortable even in frigid winters like those found in the heavy-snow region of Itashiro.It’s knitted using warm yarn from the finest merino wool.

It’s incredibly warm and keeps you cozy through even the chilliest winters. It gently wraps your head to protect against the cold, with a simple ribbed design that’s easy to coordinate with outfits.

Finest merino wool

This knit hat was developed using rare "Black Merino" wool produced in Tasmania, Australia—only a few tons are made annually.

It has thin, soft, and fluffy fibers. As soft as cashmere, its delicate yarn makes it a great choice for those who don’t usually like wool.

Even those with sensitive skin won’t feel itchy—it wraps you gently. It’s an essential item for cold winters.

■ Creation Story

Warm items are essential in cold Itashiro. The Black Merino yarn we developed here is what we created during that process. We prioritize natural, non-chemical colors, so we’ve been testing plant-based dyeing methods to achieve that with wool. But then we learned that there are already sheep with naturally colored wool!

No need for dyeing—this is the most eco-friendly approach. We quickly reached out to various mills and found a knitwear manufacturer that handles some of Japan’s highest-quality wool. This long-established mill in Osaka has exceptional technical skill, creating high-quality materials on par with cashmere.

Because the number of these sheep is small, and our small brand works with small production runs, we were able to create this fabric from naturally colored sheep.
