arranged with a lighter design that blends into everyday life.

Designed with straight-cut fabric combining square pieces, this garment offers a comfortable fit that doesn't constrict the body.

Comfort Born from Straight-Cut Design

The Echizen Blouse is tailored using a straight-cut design that maximizes fabric efficiency.
The combination of square fabric pieces naturally conforms to the body's lines, providing ease of movement and soft comfort.

This design philosophy inherits the freedom of movement found in traditional Japanese clothing, a characteristic of the Echizen shirt.

Design Features

The square neck shape creates a neat and light impression. With no defined shoulder line, the silhouette easily adapts to any shoulder width or body type.

The simple yet refined design makes it easy to pair with any bottoms.

Material: Japanese Linen

The material used is 100% linen, comfortable for spring and summer.

Sourced from a weaving mill in Shiga Prefecture, an ancient linen producing region, that adapts its weaving to modern times. The fabric is of very high quality, carefully crafted with advanced techniques. It has a firm texture but softens beautifully with use, making it a truly exquisite linen.
Its smooth and refreshing feel, combined with excellent breathability, ensures comfort even in warm, humid weather.

Dyeing with Cherry Branches Broken by Snow

For dyeing, we use natural plant dyes made from wild plants collected in Itoshiro.
The sakura pink is dyed using cherry branches broken by heavy snow in winter, gathered from the mountains. This special plant dye is only made in years with heavy snowfall.

It's a wonderful experience for us dyers to see a soft pink, evocative of cherry blossoms, emerge from the brown branches, which is quite mysterious.

Each piece is carefully dyed by hand at the plant dyeing studio in Itoshiro.

Silhouette and Size

The Echizen Blouse is designed with a relaxed width and shorter length, balancing well with both skirts and pants.
The comfortable shoulder area allows for light and easy daily movements.
It is versatile for various occasions, from relaxing at home to going out.

Care Instructions

• Turn inside out, place in a net, and wash with neutral detergent on a delicate cycle.
• Hang to dry in the shade, keeping it inside out.
• Plant dyes are sensitive to light, so store in a dark place.
• Iron from the inside out at medium to low temperature.
• If you want to completely remove linen wrinkles, iron while the fabric is semi-dry for a neat finish.
• We offer repair and re-dyeing services. However, cherry blossom dyeing is only possible in years with heavy snow, so the re-dyeing period is subject to change. Indigo dyeing over it is possible [only in summer: May-August].
