This is a kit for hand sewing tatsuke. For those who have a set of sewing tools at home, we have put together a kit containing all the materials needed to make tatsuke. It is possible to make sizes up to our size 3 (height ~ 180cm, waist ~ 85cm, hips ~ 120cm).
Please use this in conjunction with the "How to Make Tatsuke" booklet.
We have also made a video with detailed instructions on how to make it based on this booklet , which you can watch for free on YouTube.
The fabric in this kit is "rescued." Rescued fabric is fabric that, even if it is of good quality, would have been discarded due to production reasons such as not being suitable for the production lot of a major manufacturer.
I rescued this fabric because I thought that the firm texture of the wool linen and the crisp look of the dark blue would be perfect for tatami. It is a thin plain weave fabric that can be worn from spring to autumn. It is an easy fabric to sew, so even beginners can easily tackle it.
It dries quickly and feels great to wear, so I highly recommend it. There are only a limited number available, so if you're interested, be sure to get yours soon.

The width will shrink by about 0.5 cm after washing. If you wash it in the washing machine and press it before use, you won't have to worry about shrinkage.

Waist string: 1.2cm wide, 2m long (double weave) *Please use as you like
・Hand sewing thread: Daruma household thread, 100% cotton, dark blue, thick (#20), 100m
-Instructions on how to cut and sew the hem
*It is possible to sew everything by hand, but the edges will need to be finished with a folded hem stitch, which requires skill and time. A serger or zigzag sewing machine is convenient for finishing the edges of the fabric.

■ Production Story
The Ishiteshiro Clothing Store has released how they make their own pants, and this time they tried making a kit. The reason for this is that, like us, we were generously taught how to make "tatsuke" by local people.
In the past, everyone made their own kimonos and everyone in their family wore them. They created their own lifestyles by themselves.
Although we cannot practice all the ways of our ancestors, we would like to share with as many people as possible the joy of making things by hand and the pleasure of wearing something you have made yourself, so we hold regular workshops .
