"Winter Handicrafts" Online Workshop — Taking Your Dressmaking Beyond Self-Taught Methods —

Learn sewing thoroughly at home, without having to go all the way to Itoshiro
For the first time, we are offering the workshops previously held in Itoshiro online in a full-fledged manner.
・Those who couldn't attend due to distance
・Those for whom overnight stays are difficult due to childcare or work
・Those who have been making clothes on their own, but want to take their sewing skills to the next level
We wanted to deliver the same content with the same depth to such individuals.
What we value in this online workshop
This workshop is not a course where you simply "trace the instructions." It's a time to understand the structure of clothes, the characteristics of fabrics, and why certain shapes are created. It's a time to learn to think and create on your own in the future.

Why is this a "fabric-inclusive" workshop?
This workshop includes a fabric set.
This is because
・Ease of sewing
・Finished quality
・Structural understanding
are greatly influenced by the fabric. We have prepared a time where you can focus on creating with peace of mind, without getting lost in fabric selection or worrying, "Is this right?"
What kind of person is this workshop suitable for?
Target Audience
・Those who can sew straight stitches and backstitches with a sewing machine
・Those who have made clothes using sewing books or on their own
While it's not a "beginner's sewing" workshop for complete novices,
✔ Those who want to know why their finished products aren't beautiful
✔ Those who want to go beyond just following a pattern
✔ Those who want to understand the relationship between fabric and shape
This content is for such people.
Three online workshops to be held
① Make a "sleeveless" vest with black merino wool
A garment you reach for again and again in winter. It can be layered, doesn't hinder movement, and is warm. We will make a simple "sleeveless" vest using black merino wool.
Key points unique to this WS
-
How to handle wool fabric
-
Structure designed for layering
-
The important concept of "shoulder and body" precisely because there are no sleeves
-

② Make pajamas / Echizen shirt + hakama with rescue silk
We will use rescue silk fabric that would otherwise never have seen the light of day, fabric that was dormant due to flaws or being off-spec.
The appeal of this WS
Silk is often thought of as difficult, but once you know how to handle it correctly, it's a very amenable and comfortable material. This workshop is about learning to make "silk for wearing," whether as pajamas or everyday wear.
③ Make "karusan" with rescue fabric
We will make karusan, a garment that is easy to move in, doesn't constrict the body, and has evolved through daily life.
*While you can use the fabric we provide, you are also welcome to use fabric you already have on hand. (*Due to popularity, rescue fabric is in limited supply.)

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1. Can I really learn effectively online?
A. Online, we will convey the same content as the workshops held in Itoshiro.
On the day, we will explain the process and concepts while showing our hands. Since it's a small group, it's an easy environment to ask questions.
Q2. I have my own fabric; can I participate without the fabric set?
A. This workshop will be held with a designated fabric set provided (except for the Karusan WS).
This is because
・Ease of sewing
・Finished quality
・Ease of structural understanding
vary significantly depending on the fabric.
By experiencing "why this fabric for this shape," we believe it will lead to better judgment when making clothes on your own in the future.
Therefore, we do not accept workshops where you bring your own fabric, except for the "Karusan" workshop. Thank you for your understanding.
Q3. What happens if I miss a session?
If you are unable to attend, we will send you a recording of the lecture. We will also make arrangements to help you catch up on subsequent content.
Q4. Can I join midway?
Generally, we recommend attending from the beginning. The processes are interconnected, so it may be difficult to understand if you join midway.
