Guide to the village (part 1) Visit to Hakusan Nakai Shrine

The Itoshiro Clothing Store main store has been open since April 30th.

We will be open until the end of October this season by advance reservation only.

This time, we have started a "village guide" service as a first attempt.

We planned this event with the hope that as many people as possible would visit Itoshiro.

Itoshiro is a very simple village, not like a tourist spot, but it has a deep history dating back to the Jomon period and is a historic place based on the faith in Mt. Hakusan.

The more you learn about it, the more intriguing and fascinating it becomes, but the reality is that there aren't many opportunities to learn about it.

In our daily lives, we often have the opportunity to talk with local people who were born and raised in this area, which can lead to great learning experiences, but visitors do not have such opportunities.

Therefore, we planned a "Village Guide" to provide an opportunity for people to learn about this area and interact with the locals, so that they can discover more about the charms of Itoshiro.

The first "Hakusan Nakai Shrine" event was successfully completed on May 7th.

Participants came from Shiga, Fukui, Gifu and other places, and despite the rain, we all went to the shrine together.

The highlight was listening to and interacting with the shrine priest about the history and origins of the shrine. Naturally, he was very knowledgeable, so I learned a lot too.

We live in an age where you can find out anything you want on the Internet, but I feel that meeting people in person like this and having such a warm exchange between people in this atmosphere will create warm memories that will linger for a long time.

I hope to create such a space.

The next one will be on June 4th. We will also visit Daishido, an important place of worship in Itoshiro.

The Bodhisattva Kokuzo was brought from Hiraizumi in Oshu during the Heian period.

It is still carefully maintained by Shuichi Uemura, a descendant of the people who brought it here.

It was only when I came to this place that I realized there is a real connection between the Heian period and the present, and I was amazed at what a land with such a deep history and strong religious faith it is.

This is a rare opportunity to meet and talk with Mr. Uemura in person. Please come along.

Please apply here.

I hope that people will learn more and more about Itoshiro.
