What kind of year will this year be? Itoshiro has been covered in snow since December, creating a world of silver and white snow. On cold mornings, the frost-covered trees sparkle and are mesmerizing.
There has been a lack of snow in Itoshiro for the past three years, so the children have been enjoying playing in the snow every day. Since New Year's in Itoshiro is closed off by snow, people spend the holiday visiting Hakusan Nakai Shrine or relaxing at home eating osechi (traditional New Year's dishes).
How is everyone spending their New Year holidays?
This year is going to be a challenging one for us. There will likely be many changes, so I will let you know when the details are solidified. (The biggest change will be my own birth: I am expecting my fourth child in May!)
No matter what happens, I hope to continue making clothes here in Itoshiro that make people feel happy, satisfied, and think are wonderful! Thank you for your continued support this year.
