April 2-10: Indigo talk and pop-up event will be held at nijiiro*cafe! (Ikoma City, Nara Prefecture)
We will hold a talk about indigo with Yoritaka Okamoto, a fertilizer-free grower. We will distribute indigo seeds and teach you how to grow indigo. We will also open a pop-up shop. This is our first exhibition in Nara. We look forward to meeting everyone in the Kansai region.

You will learn how to grow, harvest, and dry Tadeai, a plant that has been used for traditional Japanese indigo dyeing. We will provide you with indigo seeds on the day, so please give it a try.
The leaves that are grown will be used to make "sukumo", the raw material for indigo, at the Itoshiro Clothing Store. Participants will be notified of the dates when they can experience indigo preparation, indigo dyeing, etc. Please join us and take the first step towards self-sufficiency in clothing.

After working as a fertilizer-free grower, environmental activist, TV director and IT engineer, he became a fertilizer-free grower in his mid-40s. He currently holds fertilizer-free cultivation seminars across the country, and also runs an agricultural school and seed bank called "Tane no Gakkou" in Gujo City, Gifu Prefecture. His published works include "The Book to Realize Fertilizer-Free Cultivation" (Magazine Land), and "Whose Seeds Are They?" (Kirasienne Publishing).
