This year, indigo dyeing began in April, one month earlier than usual. Namiho-chan studied indigo dyeing for a year last year, and this year she became independent. She has been devoting herself to dyeing at the Itoshiro Clothing Store, and she has been quietly working on the indigo dyeing every day.

Although it is called indigo dyeing, the job is not just about dyeing.

Daily care, checking on the condition of the indigo plants, feeding them as needed, controlling the temperature... There are many things that cannot be done unless you sharpen your five senses.

Indigo cultivation has also reached its peak, with the first harvest being completed the other day.

This year's growth has been poor, so I'm looking forward to next year. However, I'm still hoping for the second harvest around the beginning of September, so I'm going to start fertilizing now.

Although daily life has changed in many ways due to the coronavirus, Ai's work continues unchanged. This is actually reassuring.

The blessings from heaven continue to pour into the fields, the indigo plants grow vigorously, and the sunlight deepens the color of the indigo.

I don't come from a farming family, so I'm not used to working in the fields, and it's trial and error every year, but I'd like to grow little by little.
