We gave a tour of the Kamizaisho village.
On June 16th, we gave a tour of the Kamizaisho village for the first time.
At Ishiteshiro Clothing Store, we not only sell clothes, but also run a program to guide people around the village so that they can learn more about the area in which we live.
This time, we were introduced to "Kamizaisho" for the first time. There are four zaisho in Itoshiro: Kami, Naka, Nishi, and Shimo. Among these, Kamizaisho is the only village that practices Shintoism, and is home to the people who have protected the shrine. (The entire Itoshiro area is a parishioner of Hakusan Nakai Shrine, but most of the people are Buddhist except for the houses in Kamizaisho.)
We thought that this was an essential place to visit when talking about the history of Itoshiro, so we asked Itoshiro Hayato, who was born and raised in the village, to guide us and explain things to us as we walked around the village for a full two hours.
As an immigrant myself, there are many things I don't know. I can sense traces of history here and there, but there are many things I wouldn't know unless I asked.
I feel a sense of duty to listen to what I have to say while I can and pass it on to others. The more I learn about Itoshiro, the more I feel its charm, and I'm sure the people who attended felt the same way.
Finally, we visited the shrine. It is a very refreshing and beautiful shrine. If you are in Itoshiro, please be sure to stop by.
