New Year's Greetings, 2024
The new year has begun.
Thank you for your continued support this year.
What kind of year will 2024 be? The New Year brings with it a new feeling and excitement. How are you spending your time?
It's been unusually warm this year, and cold rain is falling in Itoshiro. I'd like to see a bit more snow, as it feels more wintery.
On New Year's Eve, we did our annual soba noodle making and went to visit Hakusan Nakai Shrine.
The shrine holds festivals on New Year's Eve and every day up until the 3rd of the new year. Few people from outside the area visit, but the priests and local people quietly gather together to worship at the shrine.
Your back will be straightened and you will feel refreshed as you are surrounded by pure air. It is an important time to commune with God and envision the new year.
I hope you all enjoy a wonderful time with the gods in your own communities.
This year is going to be a fulfilling one again, with workshops in the winter, indigo dyeing, plant dyeing, and farm work from spring. Even though we are busy with the seasons, I hope to be able to share with as many people the joy of being able to use my hands and feet to create things.
Our flagship store will be opening in May this year, so we hope you will make it your travel destination.
I would like to do everything I can to help as many people as possible experience Itoshiro, a small village deep in the mountains, and even deeper in the mountains.
I hope you will continue to support us this year. Thank you very much.
