2023 Main Store Hours/Gallery Talk/Village Walk

This year, in 2023, our flagship store will open on April 30th.

We will probably be open until the end of October this year, so we hope you will visit Itoshiro throughout all three seasons: spring, summer and autumn.

We usually have work to do, such as indigo dyeing, farming, and plant dyeing, so this year we will continue to operate by reservation only.

There may be times when we cannot open the shop without a reservation. In order to allow you to relax and unwind, we would appreciate it if you could let us know the date and time of your visit in advance.

Please make your reservation here .

This year, we will also be offering a "village walk" to help our customers get to know Itoshiro even better. If you are interested, please check here .

Hakusan Nakai Shrine

It is said that the reason why the Itoshiro settlement has continued to exist since the Jomon period is because it was a base for worship of Mt. Hakusan. Come and visit this important shrine that has been lovingly protected by the local people until now.

Daishido Hall

The Daishido Hall houses the "Kokuzo Bodhisattva" (a national important cultural property) donated by Fujiwara Hidehira during the Heian period. It is still looked after with great care by the descendants of those who brought the statue from Hiraizumi at that time.

Antique Museum

This is a small museum that collects antique items made privately by the grandmother who taught me how to make tsuke. It displays tools used in daily life that are rarely seen.
