"Silkworm Silkmaking School" starts on June 6th
The silk-making school that has been held in Itoshiro for the past three years will now be held remotely. It is a four-part course in which students learn how to raise silkworms at home and turn them into silk.

6/6 (Sat) Morning session 10:00- Afternoon session 13:00-
Session 1: Talk about silkworms. How to raise them, etc. (About 2 hours including questions)
6/7-10 Silkworms delivered by mail
June 13th (Sat) Morning session 10:00- Afternoon session 13:00-
Session 2: Sharing the status of the silkworms one week later (about 1 hour)
June 21 (Sun) Morning session 10:00- Afternoon session 13:00-
Session 3: Sharing the status of the silkworms after 2 weeks, preparation for the next stage (about 1 hour)
*Once the cocoons have formed, they are frozen and then sent back to Ishiteshiro Clothing Store.
7/5 (Sun) Morning session 10:00- Afternoon session 13:00-
4th session: Collect the cocoons that everyone has grown and spin the silk (and make an offering if possible)
*The pulled thread will be sent to all participants.
*After this, we will send a thread mandala kit to those who wish to make one, and then weave the thread mandala.
<About the course>
You will need mulberry leaves. If you have some around your home, you can join us.
If you don't have mulberry trees and can't grow them, you can participate as an observer. This is a course for people who can participate online via Zoom on their smartphones.
Participation fee: 30,000 yen (including silkworm fee and shipping)
Observer participation (no distribution of silkworms, participation via Zoom only) 5,000 yen
Capacity: 30 people (15 in the morning session, 15 in the afternoon session)
