Concept
Sukeshichi
A traditional farmhouse stay by Itoshiro Yohinten
A wooden home that embodies the quiet presence of old Itoshiro.
A way of life made by hand — the breath of those who lived before still lingers.
On land inhabited since the Jomon era,
let your body and mind settle into its timeless embrace.

Stay
More than 200 years old — with some timbers said to date back over 300 —
Sukeshichi once stood at the entrance to the old road leading into Itoshiro.
Now offered as a private accommodation, it invites you to slow down and enjoy its tranquil spaces.

Itoshiro Yohinten Main Store

Here you can try on and purchase clothing,
and visit the indigo workshop and the indigo fields beside it.
(Some areas are closed from November to April.)

Historical Sites and Shrines
Itoshiro was an important pilgrimage site for the once widespread faith known as Hakusan Shinko, which venerated the sacred mountain of Hakusan.
Traces of that history remain in the local shrines and temples.
We invite you to walk among these sacred places
and feel the quiet grandeur that continues to this day.

The Joy of Each Season
Spring brings soft new green,
summer the clarity of the mountain headwaters,
autumn a blaze of red and gold,
and winter a hushed world of snow.
Each season transforms the village with a striking, quiet beauty.
We hope you will return to experience the shifting seasons of Itoshiro again.
